The Multi-Faceted Approach

Let me start by explaining what ‘multifaceted’ means. Facet means aspect or side. Faceted means something that has different aspects or sides. Multifaceted means something that has more than one side/aspect/part. Therefore, a multifaceted approach to fitness is one which contains more than one method for achieving fitness

Now that I’ve explained what it is, allow me to explain why it’s important. The Multifaceted approach is important because it allows someone to tackle their goals in more than one way. For example, weight loss can be achieved by dieting. It can also be achieved by working out. The multifaceted approach combines both and thus attains the goal (fitness) much quicker than either method would separately.

This method is especially effective for those who need to lose weight or gain muscle quickly. That being said, it’s still quite effective for anyone who needs to achieve either of these goals. The method pairs a good diet (which changes depending on the goal) with an adequate amount and type of exercise (which also changes depending on the goal).

For weight loss, the ideal use of this method (in my experience) is through a high protein, low calorie, low fat, and low carb diet along with lots of cardiovascular exercise and a little bit of weight training (to ensure muscle isn’t lost along with the fat).

For muscle gain, the ideal use of this method (in my experience) is through a high protein, high calorie, high carb, low fat, and low sugar diet along with lots of weight training and a little bit of cardio (to reduce the amount of fat that develops along with the muscle).

All in all, this approach can aid in losing a lot of weight (or building a lot of muscle) very quickly. That being said, it can also be quite draining. This means it’s crucial to stay properly nourished when following this method.
